The next morning we hiked to a place called Devil's Kettle. It is a phenomenon where half the river drains into a lava formation and they have no idea where it goes. It was a 1 mile hike up a mountain and then down 210 stairs. For me it was arduous and after nursing Hazel and getting the kids gathered to go back down and getting halfway down realized I hadn't even looked over the edge at the "kettle". I was kinda bummed but what can you do. The kids were energetic even Anna did it all the way under her own power.

We stopped to eat our lunch in Duluth and found a pretty rose garden park that overlooked Lake Superior.

Up North Vacation

We spent a few days in Grand Marais, 110 mi north of Duluth, this past week. It was so great to get away and we had so much fun.
We had the chance to see some amazing wildlife.

Canning

This is some of what has been keeping me busy lately. Kinda silly to post but it was so much work and I'm proud of it. There is pear sauce, applesauce and raspberry jam.

Isaac 10th B-day

Isaac turned 10 this August. I am so sad the kids are growing up so fast. In spite of that we had a great time at the river. Isaac got a mighty sunburn that pealed for days. Bad mama bad mama.

Hazel & Brynn

These are some fun baby fluff pictures. The bonnet was handmade by Aunt Rebecca. It is so beautiful but is only tolerated for short periods of time.

24th of July

Haven't posted for a while so here are some pictures from our summer first off is 24th of July. The kids are wearing makeshift costumes as I'm just too tired to be crafty. The stake had a fun day of activities and BBQ and a little parade until it started raining.
