Ivy Tonsilectomy

It's been awhile and alot has happened but I will start with Ivy's tonsilectomy. We scheduled it for the 12th of March. Ivy was really nervous but we talked about it alot so she was pretty well prepared. The nurses when we checked in thought she was hiding her fear but everytime they turned their backs Ivy grinned and jumped around. She was a little excited about the whole thing and they gave her a pretty pink surgery hat that she loved and she took her bear and a necklace that Grandma Wetzel sent her. When she was layed down to be put under we started singing twinkle little star together I couldn't finish because I was choking up but she bravely sung on and was asleep halfway through the song. It went pretty quickly about an hour later Brandon was called back to her as she was waking up but he came back quickly saying she wanted mama. She was pretty disoriented and in a bit of pain but somehow she remebered the sign for water in sign language it was pretty cute. She was tranfered to her room which I had planned on staying with her overnight but the room was too small for me and Hazel to stay so Brandon stayed the night. Ivy recovered really well the drugs she took for pain made her really sleepy and hurt her stomach so it was a relief when she no longer needed them. Now on day 5 her neck and ears hurt a little. The doctor said her tonsils where as big as he has seen in a child her size and they and the adenoids where terribly inflammed and infected. This is a huge relief to have behind us now maybe Ivy and Emma will get more rest at night with the snoring stopped.
